Why can’t I log in to the ABS website?

The log in for the ABS web site is currently disabled. However, you don’t need to log in to join, renew, or visit any part of the web site. You can even view newsletters without logging in. In the future, we will have a log in function where you will be able to see your membership details..

What is my password and username for online Journal access?

The Journal is accessed through ScienceDirect, not the ABS website. ABS does not keep or store your username or password for Journal access. ScienceDirect does have a forgot your username and password link at their log in page http://www.sciencedirect.com/anbehav. Please see http://animalbehaviorsociety.org/central-office/onlineaccess for ScienceDirect contact information if you need further assistance.

How do I register with ScienceDirect to get access to the journal, Animal Behaviour?

You will need your customer reference number and you can register at https://cs.sciencedirect.com/activate/anbehav/absmembers. You can find your customer reference number in your welcome message that you received upon joining ABS or on the mailing label of your paper copy. If you don’t have either of these, you can request it by emailing the Central Office at aboffice@indiana.edu.

It will usually take 2-6 weeks after joining to gain access. Membership also starts the month after your payment is received. Please see http://animalbehaviorsociety.org/central-office/onlineaccess for detailed instructions about registering with ScienceDirect.

I joined the Animal Behavior Society, why don’t I have online access or my paper copy of the journal yet?

It takes about 2-6 weeks from the time you join to the time online access is granted and 6-8 weeks before the paper copy is received. This is because your membership begins the month after we receive your payment and the publisher needs time to enter you in their system.

Some of the journal issues that I paid for were never mailed to me. How can I get these missing issues?

Please contact the Central Office at aboffice@indiaan.edu as soon as you notice that you are missing issues. They will order replacement issues from the publisher.

I have recently moved. How do I update my address and email information?

Please update the information at our web site here or email the Central Office at aboffice@indiana.edu .

I don’t want to make a payment online, how else can I pay?

You can call with your payment information by:

or by Skype (abs.central.office).

Office hours are M-F 8:00 AM-4:00 PM EST/EDST.

You can also mail in a payment to:  Animal Behavior Society, 402 N Park Ave, Bloomington, In 47408.
